GRE - check
Got it done. Did well, not great, but well. Will ask those in the know whether I will need to retake next year - it's likely. And that's OK.
Not much else is going on, and that's also OK. Well, maybe lots is going on, I'm just not thinking about it tonight. Tonight I'm call for SAVI - I'm a volunteer emergency room advocate. I'm basically sitting on the couch watching bad tv, eating junk food, and hoping the phone doesn't ring. If you're in NYC and interested for volunteering to aid survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, SAVI is gearing up their fall training. Check it out. If you don't feel like schlepping uptown, check out this site for other programs in the 5 boroughs.
In other news, Tall Guy's fabulous one man show is Tuesday Sept. 26th. If you're in town and interested in a fine performance relating quantum physics to love, life and elephants, email me for details. Tix only $5!
Am quite excited - we've booked a little weekend getaway in the Hudson Valley. Anyone want to cat sit? Any recommendations for restaurants in the Woodstock area?
I've spent some time tonight tooling around Life Hacker. As usual found some nifty thingys.
A resource for what to make for dinner when all you've got is random ingredients.
Build yourself a better grocery list.
I heart vinegar. So many wonderful uses.

Paying respects to Ann Richards, former governor of Texas - she will be sorely missed. If I grow up to become half as hard working, intelligent, saucy, witty, and charming as she was, I'll be thrilled. Check out this great eulogy for her. And if you need a little dose of hope in the midst the political abyss, read or listen to her speech at the 1988 Democratic Convention. Makes me teary every time.
PS: Her daughter Cecile is head of Planned Parenthood. The legacy lives on...
