Bits and pieces
I have to admit, I'm still in a bit of a daze after the past week - the big Democratic wins, Rumsfeld's resignation, Britney dumped K-Fed, Rutgers is in the top 10... WTF? I came of age in the era of Clinton, and the falling of the Berlin Wall, and the end of Apartheid. I realized I've been kind of covering my eyes for the past 10 years or so, not believing the direction the world had taken. I realize I'm being totally idealistic about it all, but I don't care. I'm over the moon that a woman is Speaker of the House and that my choices for President in 2008 could easily include Hilary AND Barack Obama. All is not right in the world, but things feel better this week - as if it's suddenly OK to open my eyes and feel hopeful and optimistic again.
Came across this via Feministing - I'm still agog that she got to hang out with Cecile AND Gloria. Wildly jealous.
Some favorites from NPR this week:
Radio Lab - Morality - if you have the time, this was a great listen - one of the ones so good you park your car and sit in the parking lot in order to hear the end of the show.
Daddy sends in reinforcements - I laughed out loud at the opening
Christopher Guest's new movie - the inner workings of the movie biz
Sci Fi I may be tempted to read

Hi Tall Girl,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the linkage. Very cool of you.
I'll drop back and read more later...but today I had a root canal, and the blogosphere is a bit fuzzy on these percosets.
Peace.
